Privacy Policy

What information does Voices of Humanity (VoH) collect?

When you first join, VoH collects your name, email, country of residence, gender identity, age identity and optionally other information for your profile. After you have joined, you have the option to provide additional information for your profile, including a photo. You can change all of your profile information including your name and email at any time.

When you post messages and comments in the VoH forum, these items are identified as having been provided by you. You may edit your messages and comments until someone (including yourself) rates your item or comments on it. You may join or leave communities. Your community affiliations are visible to all VoH participants.

Emails from VoH are tracked to see if you have opened them. This information is currently used only to let you know if your personal emails via VoH were opened by the recipient. In future it may be used to reduce email volume to those who never or rarely open what they receive.

What do we use your information for?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:
- To personalize your experience according to your preferences and settings
- To send periodic emails.

The email address you provide may be used to send you postings on the forum, messages from communities you're a member of, or from other members, as well as occasional information about the features of the site, and responses to your inquiries.

What information is private?

Only your email, password and ratings are confidential. All other information that you have provided is public, including:
- all profile information
- communities you have joined or created
- items you have posted.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your personal information. Any passwords are encrypted. The server is protected with firewalls and other security measures.

How can you have your data removed?

Email your request to have your data removed to questions@intermix.org. Include the name you have used for your account. All your identifying information will be removed.

Do we use cookies?

We use only session cookies necessary for the functioning of the VoH site. We do not use cookies to track you across sessions and we do not implement third party cookies. However, please be aware that video or audio sites embedded in posts may use tracking or third party cookies.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We will never sell or give away your your personally identifiable information to anyone. This does not include trusted third parties, such as email providers, who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law.

California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent. As part of the California Online Privacy Protection Act, all users of our site may make any changes to their information at any time by logging in and going to the 'Edit Profile' page.

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.

Reporting Messages for Possible Censorship

Messages that are dangerous, hateful, malicious, harassing, creepy, disgusting, pornographic, illegal, impersonating, spam or infringing on intellectual property and personal rights are reportable. Use the contact information below to make your report. Click the # sign permalink at the bottom of the message you are reporting to find the ID of the message. Be sure to include that ID in your report. Your own identity as someone who is reporting an item will be kept private.

Terms and Conditions

Please use common sense. Be aware that our software is not perfect. Protect your identity by using a pseudonym if necessary. Participate at your own risk.

Third Party Websites

This privacy policy does not cover other websites that are linked or embedded in VoH.
