Book of Job verses 40:9 - 40:14
9 Have you an arm like God
 Or can you thunder with a voice like his?
10 Then assume your dignity and state.
  Array yourself in majesty and splendor.
11 Let loose your transports of anger.
  Bring low every proud man with a look.
12 Humble every proud man with a look
  And demolish the wicked where they stand.
13 Bury them all in the dust together;
  Bind their faces in the crypt.
14 Then I myself will give thanks
  that your own right hand can save you.
This is God being very sarcastic, but I fear there are indeed those who would dearly love to thunder with a voice like His and hurl down their transports of anger.

How else to understand the irrational obsession with nuclear weapons (and star wars technology, too) without positing an underlying desire to have God's power, indeed, to supplant God?
