empowerment of women through information
sum

I believe the biggest hinderance to any progress is the lack of information.  That is exactly what is constricting millions of women world over from moving out of their current situation. Their lack of information about opportunities keeps them for striving for better and also makes them vulnerable to all sorts of violence.

When I was in India, I met a group of volunteers who worked with women in rural areas, educated them in health, safety and other social information that was relevant to their social well being.  It was a small step towards achieving a big goal. They worked one village at a time.

We could join heads with some of the leading organizations in Bayarea who are engaged in such projects and invite them to share their experiences.  There are places in world where women are not aware about health issues which are matters of critical concerns like Breast Cancer, their lack of information is not just endangering their lives but is also trickeling down to the lives of their children: It has a cascading effect.

We could track organizations who work locally with women in such places.  Finding the right way to get information to them will be one of the biggest road to their progress.
