I found it - yes you can post replies on facebook by email: https://blog.facebook.com/blog.php?post=206480947130.  I didn't know any of this.  You can subscribe to your own facebook page and get email notificiations.  There are questions to be answered, but indeed this might allow us to integrate facebook into InterMix quite fully.
