Hi - the event was jam packed. A number of important people were there including the chief of police, the district attorney and Emily Murase, Exec Dir of the Dept on the Status of Women. There were speakers and several high school students were awarded for their posters about human trafficking.
I met Ms Murase and secured the email of her exec asst, so we can try to make an appointment to see her. I would like to do that in any case, but would like to coordinate it with the IWD 2014 interns so at least one person can come with me. Savannah has expressed interest - she can make it Tuesdays and Thursdays. Anyone else? Kaite, Theresa?
Also I met Dr Barbara Mark, VP of Friends of the Commission on the Status of Women and Antonia Lavine, whom I had already met at our UNA-SF Council of Organizations meeting the day before. Antonia Lavine is, I believe, on the steering committee for the San Francisco Collaborative Against Human Trafficking.
I will email these two new contacts and copy our three interns from SFSU and USF. The question is, can these contacts help us?
