Hello to our SF Bay COO Core Collaborators,
This is being emailed to our Core Collaborators subgroup, which consists of 10 persons at this point: myself, Roger Eaton, Elizabeth Weinberg as co-chairs of the effort, Tom Ray, Brian Webster, Mary Jane Mikuriya, Jim Barnett, Doug Merritt, Orlando Raolo, Pablo Castro and Scott Haeger. I will send a short email to everyone here with our phone numbers and emails.
The Core Collaborators need to meet before the next general meeting, which is Thursday, March 13, same place as before, the AAACC, 762 Fulton. I suggest the evening of Tuesday, February 25 for our core group meeting, also at AAACC - third floor conference room. Please email me your availability: rogerweaton@gmail.com or call 415 933 0153.
Our agenda:
1) More about what membership means, including what to do if a member organization disagrees with a published policy of the Council.
2) We already agree we support the noble goals of the UN - peace, human rights, sustainable development and so forth. I would like to propose that we adopt an ambitious mission to unite Bay Area civil society in support of those UN goals.
3) I would also hope we might agree to use the Collective Impact framework for organizing ourselves.
4) Are we agreed on making the UN 70th for Oct 24, 2015 our centerpiece activity?
Please add items to our agenda by replying to this message via InterMix.
I encourage everyone to explore the online capabilities of our InterMix Voices of Humanity listserve. It is going to take a while to get used to, partly because of its novel features and partly because it is new and needs some rough edges taken care of. It is easy to reply to this or other messages online. If you are set to receive subgroup messages right away, you can also just reply by email and your reply will go out to everyone in our Core subgroup. Please invest in learning how to use InterMix since this is going to be our "continuous communication" facility. I will be happy to go over things with you.
Good news! Scott Haeger is going to be doing outreach for us. I have created a script for telephone contacts and an email for him to send. Please view the script and email at:

Outreach will begin next Monday. If you have concerns, please reply about them here in our subgroup.
So far so good!
