The UN Association SF Women's Committee
cordially invites you to celebrate the annual International Women's Day!

Saturday March 8th 2014 at 6:00 PM at the Infusion Lounge. Network, listen to speakers, view displays and buy art (a percentage donated to UNA-SF), obtain information from sister organizations (including WIN-CAWA's Cities for CEDAW concept paper), mingle and more!

Admission is free. A donation of $10.00 is encouraged. Drinks on your own. Infusion donates 10% of drink sales to UNA-SF.  Under 21 are fine, so those who would like to bring their daughters and/or sons, please do!

Speakers include:

Ms. Latonia M. Dixon, R.N. M.A. M.F.A. will speak on the subject "Unity". Ms. Dixon is a California native, an artist, teacher, a disabled army veteran, the first African American Woman Commander of The American Legion in San Francisco, Robert Basker Post 315. more

Ms. Fabiola Addamo will speak on "Self-actualization: The Story of a Female Artist". Ms. Addamo, a native of Italy and human rights activist, transformed herself into a brand. It took her about four years of diligent work behind the scenes. more

Ms. Ana Maria Sanchez will speak on "Girl from the Hood Gone Good: One Woman's Mission To Help Others Overcome A Pain Filled Past". Ms. Sanchez holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and is a Holistic Counselor, she is the founder of Free the Light Within. more

Linda Naugle will speak abut "UNICEF".  Ms Naugle is the Director of the Northwest Region of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF based in San Francisco. She has worked at UNICEF for over 7 years, which has granted her the opportunity to see UNICEF's work in the field firsthand in Rwanda, Panama, Belize, and Malawi and has spoken to groups and individuals around the country about her experiences in an effort to raise funds and awareness about alleviating poverty in the developing world.

Ms. Maya Katherine will speak on "Daughter of Child Marriage".  Maya Katherine's passion is writing, storytelling, film, speaking about women's issues, adoption, social entrepreneurship, and more. Her experiences have been shared on NPR, KPFA.org, ThePassion.com and The Huffington Post. Maya's most recent project is a documentary on her journey back to meet her biological mother, who was a child bride.

We will have flyers for this "MAMA" exhibit from the International Museum of Women. And for the Muslima exhibit as well.  And more more more.
