Dear UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka,
We need to try many approaches. Things do have to change. Here is a list of suggestions for nonviolent action for your consideration:
1) Organize an all women sit-in in the Security Council Room to draft a resolution on nuclear disarmament by the end of 2014, with you taking the role of Secretary General.
2) Create a coordinated and disciplined nonviolent action arm with branches in all countries to demand peace, gender equality and an end to violence against women. Have a separate funding mechanism outside usual UN channels, and draft Code Pink and Pussy Riot to be your advisors.
3) Go down to the courtyard there in New York where the Peace Bell is that only the Secretary General rings once a year and ring that Peace Bell until you are arrested.
Crazy, I know, but I would love to see it!
