Dear UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka,
In response to the recent Commission on the Status of Women, you have given your voice, approval and affirmation that Gender Eqality will be one of the "stand alone" post 2015 goals of the United Nations.
We ask you to stand firm, to use your strong voice and and powerful position to keep this most important goal waving above water, a huge unflappable banner.
This will be a difficult task, as you will often be swimming upstream, against the current, against the grandiose wave of ignorance and ethnic and cultural traditions that keep women passive, sudued and denied. Difficult, but not impossible. SCREAM, DEMAND if you have to, but do not let the goal of Gender Equality, be watered down by the small but ever erosive "powers that be."
