This is good news, Claudia. Now if we can get a couple more volunteers for the UN 69th at the UU Church on Oct 19th, then that team will be plenty big enough to handle the job and we can start recruiting for other UN 70th related teams.
The next meeting of the UN 69th team will be at the May 8th COO meeting when we break out into teams.
I want everyone to understand that your reply in the listserve was totally appropriate. I fear people are not using the listserve because they don't want to waste other peoples bandwidth - I think you know what I mean. This bandwidth problem where we are so heavily overloaded with email is a big one. However, there are two factors that make your reply by listserve perfectly OK. 1) Each person can control whether to receive each email as soon as it is posted, or in a once-a-day compilation of emails from InterMix - go to your Profile page and then select Settings to set your email preferences. 2) This particular email was in reply to a "UN 70th" subgroup message. The Council of Organizations listserve has 98 members, but the "UN 70th" subgroup has only 23, so your email went out just to those 23 who are particularly interested in UN 70th matters.
The subgroup idea is meant to reduce the communication load, yet preserve transparency, since anyone on the larger listserve can go to the subgroup online and see what we have been saying to each other.
So I ask everyone to please do the same. Go ahead and reply or start a new thread without worrying about overloading others. When you reply, the reply automatically inherits the subgroup(s) of the message you are replying to, and even if the message is going to go out to the entire COO list, almost everyone on the list has there email settings so that they still only get one email a day except subgroup messages, which they get right away.
Thanks again and I hope to see you May 8th, at the UU Church at Geary and Franklin in SF, 5:30 doors open, meeting starts at 6:00. Please bring potluck for 6.
