The key outcome of the June 5th meeting was that we will combine outreach for the UN 69th luncheon with outreach for the COO with a target of at least doubling our membership from six organizations to twelve. Doug and Nancy Merritt had signed up for the Outreach Committee, and since we are combining functions I have added them to the UN 69th Committee for our campaign.
Between now and July 10th, we need to do the outreach. A shared google list of organizations to be contacted will be put together soon - members of the UN 69th Committee will be notified.
Our outreach will be primarily to organizations, since we are looking to expand our Council at the same time we bring in people for UN 69th, but of course, bringing in individuals is fine, too.
We will request each organization to provide a Human Rights related topic for a breakout discussion at a table of eight, a lead person for that table, and if possible a second person to take notes at a different table. The idea is to cross fertilize, i.e., for organizations to become acquainted with each other.
On July 10th we will discuss our outreach efforts so far, and plan in more detail for the Oct 19th event.
