If you read this "Christian Wife's Marriage Catechism" you will see advice to the wife to submit to her husband as unto the Lord.  And that is just one example.  

In the U.S., anyway, only 10 percent of congregations are led by a woman and only 2 percent have as many men attending service as women. The trend though is to reduce the difference.  Here's a good article on the statistics.  Catholic women are less committed to the church than they used to be.  There is a bumpy road ahead for the Catholic Church if it continues to disallow women as priests. Society as a whole is moving towards gender equality, and institutions, even religious institutions, that stand in the way will eventually be pulled along by the current.

Anyway, I am glad to see someone bringing up this touchy subject.
