1) We decided the tickets would be a flat $10 instead of $8 via eventbrite and $10 at the door. Also we will print tickets and have them available by the Aug 19th COO general meeting. Roger will get the tickets printed on UN blue cardstock, UU-UNO to be spelled out: “Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office”. How exactly are these tickets going to work?
2) Liz and Larry were particularly concerned that Shannon Biggs is expecting to talk on the Rights of Nature. After some discussion it was agreed that some of those attending the event might well feel we had misrepresented the event theme as “Human Rights”. Liz and Larry will talk with Shannon. Shannon’s other field of expertise, Community Rights, has to do with the right of communities to protect themselves against predatory corporations and would do better for us than Rights of Nature.
3) We will want to advertise that we will have tables for organizational literature.
4) Liz will consider whether we want to bring in the Stop Mass Incarceration people. (Liz has since OK’d having Dr. Corey Weinstein lead a “Mass Incarceration” table.)
5) At Liz’ suggestion, we thought that the paragraph each table comes up with should include several ideas how people and organizations might support needed changes in the area of discussion for that table.
6) Tom Ray offered to create a questionnaire which could be both printed for the event and put online. He will also make the sfbaycoo.org home page focus on UN 69.
7) Eliz mentioned the Universal Periodic Review and Joshua Cooper as a possible participant. This UPR possibility needs to be further discussed.
