We are using our innovative InterMix social media software as our listserve. One of InterMix's capabilities is to have subgroups. Our UNA Northern California InterMix group has six subgroups: Exec Committee, Chapter Presidents, Advocacy, Communications, Membership and IGMUN.
When you post a message in a subgroup, that message is emailed only to members of the subgroup. The message is, however, available for any member of the full group to read online. The idea is to preserve transparency while cutting down on the amount of email everyone receives.
If you click on the group forum link in the email you are receiving with this message, you can find the subgroups and who exactly is in each subgroup by clicking the Subgroups button at the top of the page. To see all the people in the UNA NorCal group, click the Info button at the top and then click the membership count a little ways down the page.
By using an online communication tool, UNA NCD will have its best chance to prosper, so as your Communications VP I am requesting that each of you click the "One Click reply" link at the bottom of the email you have received and just say a few words to let us know you have received the message and understand how to reply. Posting your first message in a new online communications setup is a hurdle for most folks, so please go ahead and reply just to get over that hurdle. Herb, you could set the example here if you will.
