Friends of UNA,
Now that elections are over and Congress is back in Washington for the next month, let’s get them back to work on an issue that a majority of Republican, Democrat and Independent voters can all agree on — fully funding UN Peacekeeping.
At this very moment, 118,000 peacekeepers are risking their lives to restore peace and stability around the world, and we’re in danger of denying them vital resources to carry out the jobs we asked them to fulfill. The time is NOW for Congress to secure funding for UN Peacekeeping in FY’15!
You can do something to prevent UN Peacekeeping from going underfunded: Let Congress know that you support paying our peacekeeping dues in full before the end of the year.
When voters like you went to the polls last week, you made it clear that foreign policy was heavy on your minds. Across the country, exit polls showed that transnational issues like the spread of Ebola and the response to ISIS were among Americans’ most pressing concerns.
By paying our UN and UN Peacekeeping dues, we can ensure that the U.S. doesn’t have to tackle these complex international issues alone.
With the help of UNA-USA members like you, we can make sure that Congress hears us loud and clear: Americans overwhelmingly support paying our UN and UN Peacekeeping dues in full.
Send your member of Congress a message today.
Thank you for all that you do,
Chris Whatley
Executive Director, UNA-USA
