Dear UN Women Executive Director Mlambo-Ngcuka,
In many developing countries, there aren’t enough resources to teach gender education – the government does not invest in them; and most of the population has neither a culture nor the capital to support them. To break with all discrimination against girls and women, we must invest time to provide more resources not only so people can access the message, but also spread the message. Committees have to travel to the areas where its population cannot acquire gender education so that they can become aware of women’s rights, and learn that they can be agents of change in countries where patriarchy dominates their lives.
It is the UN Women responsibility, but it also is a citizen's duty to work together to break the gender barrier.
Sincerely,
Bibiana Gutiérrez
