Empowering Women from Global to Local: Engage in the Cities for CEDAW Campaign and Reignite the UN Beijing Platform for Action.

Join us to participate in global initiatives for women's human rights at the local level!


Where: AAACC at 762 Fulton St, San Francisco, CA 94102 - 3 blocks east of City Hall
When: Jan 20, 2015, 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM with lunch included and follow on reception
Price: $50, with special $25 rates for students and seniors

This conference will discuss the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. There will be opportunities to engage in planning and action to implement these global initiatives locally and connect with regional leaders for women's human rights.

GENDER CROSSTALK

During the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in Gender Crosstalk, a project of the United Nations Association San Francisco Chapter to collect and send messages from men and women across the globe to the Executive Director of UN Women, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka. PARKING

There are a limited number of parking spaces at the venue, in addition to street parking. We encourage use of public transportation. From Civic Center BART Station, participants can take the following buses: 5, 5L, 21.
