@Sean Wilson - I'm not sure where you are going with that thought. Clearly overt bias and unconscious bias are different, but exactly what is it that does not seem fair? As I read the article it was careful not to be judgmental, only to bring to light how strong the unconscious bias is against women in science, even among women scientists.
