Hi Fred and Paraganger,
Good to hear from you on Voices of Humanity. What you say has some merit to be sure. Odds seem very much against the VoH project, but I do think there is some reason for optimism. If, big if, we can get the project off the ground then it will zoom. The whole world is looking for a way to bring us together. For instance, over the weekend in Quito city leaders from 500 cities came together calling for "Unity among local and regional governments at the global level." https://cdn.theatlantic.com/assets/media/files/a_seat_at_the_global_table.pdf.
Voices of Humanity can provide that unity, and I haven't heard of another way forward which is structured to marginalize the Trumps of the world.
It helps that you are pointing out my failure to communicate. The idea of the genders as monarchs in a new heaven does need some explaining (;-). I'm working on it and will post the results here.
Parabanger,
Clearly the Voice of Humanity-as-one will necessarily express a simplified version of reality. That is what makes for order out of chaos, and though simplified, yet it will be in tune with our best common vision of what is happening and how we should proceed. At the same time there will be the voices of the genders, generations, nations, cities and all the individual participants retain their separate voice. So the model maintains both unity and diversity of opinion. That's the best we can do, ain't it?
