Thoughts for International Women's Day
We have entered the planetary phase of human history. Communications are global, the economy is global, but governance is stuck at the national level, with a nod to the United Nations, to be sure. The result is growing chaos.
The marginalized communities of the world are our best hope. The women, the indigenous, the disadvantaged minorities, perhaps the veterans - these, with the women in the lead, have every reason to work together for a heartfelt human unity that can build cooperation between the nations and religions.
#Beboldforchange means thinking big. Gender equality can only be achieved as part of a larger movement that targets success for humanity, success for the individual, and success for Planet Earth. A newfound sense of human unity will support 1) a just and peaceful (and gender-equal) society at every geographic level, 2) achievement of individual potential everywhere (most definitley including for women and girls), and 3) a harmonious, mutually supportive relationship between humanity and the rest of nature.
We have entered the planetary phase of human history. If the women lead, the men will follow.
