Am so glad to be a Charter Member of the URI Voices of Humanity Cooperation Circle, because it has given us a chance to speak out about Religiously motivated violence. As a young Christian man based in Uganda I believe that when different Religions come together they can change the discriminatory motives that some religious people have against other Religions. To this date, discord stirs up wrangles between some religious groups, even to the extent of violating each other’s Rights. Yet there are those who believe that we are all equal in the eyes of the Lord.
We all understand that we pray to the same God but what I don't understand is why some religious people tend to take themselves as the most righteous just because I, as a follower of Christ, believe His the way to our Heavenly Father (God) while to Muslims he is instead a Prophet. I think if Religions come together and find something that they have in common it will help them to create a mutual understanding between them thus helping us, the followers, to come together so that we realize Peace in our Countries and communities.
That's why the United Religions Initiative Voices of Humanity Cooperation Circle, is here to play a great role in addressing these issues that is to say Religious tolerance and non-violent action for human unity, and that's why as a Charter Member of the URI voices of Humanity Cooperation Circle I look forward to building a Global consciousness to underpin a massive non-violent movement for Human Unity in order to realize Peace and Justice for all. Because these are some of the goals that we look forward to reach and that's the reason why the Interfaith movement is here to promote enduring interfaith cooperation and to strengthen interfaith relations between different Religions in order to build up a connection between them, for example Muslims working hand in hand with Christians to promote and protect the rights of their followers and ending the violence between them. Our purpose is to end Religiously motivated violence and to create cultures of Peace, Justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings.
Let me also take this moment to give thanks to Roger and his team and those who are part of our struggle that we look forward to solve and also thanks to all Charter Members of the URI Voices of Humanity Cooperation Circle, and I believe together we can tackle some of the problems that affect the people today,
Thank you and Best regards,
