We are moving ahead with the software development and also getting ready for a zoom meeting with Shakeel Earnest, who has stepped up to be our secondary contact after the deeply felt loss of Rev Leland Stewart.
Shakeel is Youth Coordinator of the Organization for Peace and Development CC in Pakistan, and comes to us with the recommendation of our member Jahangir Piara. Shakeel is well connected in the URI Asia region where he recently ran to be global trustee. He and I are working on our zoom skills. We should be ready soon to set up the zoom meeting for our VoH CC.
Shakeel is interested to bring in more VoH CC members from Pakistan. If you have connections in Pakistan that we should contact, please get in touch. If you “follow” us on VoH, you can then easily send us a message using the VoH mail system.
A couple things to know. Use the VoH CC portal at voh.intermix.org/vohcc to login directly to our VoH CC community. Our portal page has a full description of our purpose and how we intend to actually achieve human unity with support for diversity. Also, when you post a message in the VoH CC community, you will see that you have a choice of “Only @vohcc” or “Public”. The default is “Only @vohcc” which means emails of what you post go out only to VoH CC members.
Coming soon, our full moon to full moon nonviolent action cycle will allow us to be truly action oriented. We can use the action cycle to ramp up our efforts for nuclear disarmament. I will be sure to let everyone know when we get there.
Meanwhile, please don’t be shy about posting your ideas how we can best expand our presence. I see Voices of Humanity as a wonderful tool for URI overall, but first we must prove that it works for our membership. Is there anyone who would be willing to do some outreach for us at the upcoming Parliament of the World’s Religions in Toronto this Fall? I could put together some material for that outreach effort.
Best to all,
#vohcc, #interfaith
