Apologies for swearing in my original post. The issue I have with the SDGs is that there are 17 of them and this is not necessary. It also uses a lot of energy and resources in report writing, meetings, minutes, and merchandise. We had a presentation with slideshow given to our lical SDG group by someone from Brussels and every single slide was full of reports, meetings, minutes, and merchandise but there was no actual action. All the way through the speaker referred to 'notes' he had written . These turned out to be a massive tombe of a report. This type of carry on has happened before and got nowhere. It's too slow, too resource hungry, and full of words not actions. Permaculture takes action. It doesn't require 17 goals yet fits and satisfies them. It is also increasingly more known about than it was. Help this by spreading the word. By demonstration even better. Permaculture is very demonstrable and also quick. It is Greening the Desert (check out Geoff Lawton Greening the Desert on YouTube). If we get permaculture more widespread, including demonstrating it ourselves, we will be helping our planet a lot faster than endless reports, meetings, minutes and merchandise will.
