My name is Jahangir Piara. I have been working for peace education and interfaith harmony for a long time as a participant in local, regional and International organizations/networks. I have served as Member of the Youth Steering Committee of United Religions Initiative for over 5 years. I was a representative of International Peace Bureau for 7 years for South Asia. I have participated in many regional and international conferences and events which have built my confidence and enhanced my capacity and knowledge about peace and interfaith harmony. I believe that to bring a positive and peaceful change in the world, we need to work at the grassroots level, and that with the involvement of local people we can promote a culture of peace and interfaith harmony around the world. I feel that this is the right time to promote a culture of peace, interfaith harmony, human development and mutual understanding to save and serve humanity at large.
Let’s open our hearts to accept our coexistence for a culture of peace and safety for human life around the world. The time requires from each and every peace actor to promote a sense of peace and interfaith harmony among the peoples of the world to save our world and to make it a peaceful planet for all living beings.
I have been nominated for Global Trustee of URI Multiregion. The Voices of Humanity Multiregion Cooperation Circle will be voting for me and I would take it as a great favor if your own Multiregion CC would also vote for me to be a Global Trustee of URI. I assure you that as Trustee I will work closely with you and we will strengthen our network by developing both our common objectives to meet the PPP of the URI and each CC's separate initiatives/goals and purposes to promote and keep humanity safe.
