Thank you for this strong statement for peace, David. The Russian attack on the Ukraine can be seen as peace vs war or as democracy vs autocracy. It is hard to sit back and allow Russia to invade the Ukraine. Did the U.S. promote this situation just to land Putin in a quagmire? Some elements of the US government may have hoped so, but who would have thought Putin could be so dumb?

Should the U.S. arm the Ukraine? That's where your title is so appropriate - to the last Ukrainian. And it could lead to a wider war, even a nuclear war if Putin is to be listened to. Not arming the Ukraine if it leads to Russian victory, might just be a step on the road to future Russian expansion. Then there will be war, so it is not an easy decision. Still, as a believer in the power of nonviolence, my vote is that we not arm the Ukraine. Support in other ways, yes, but arms no!
