Here is just one of many recent articles about the loss of biodiversity. This one focuses on the horrifying drop in insect populations. From what I have read, it is just as serious as global warming. What can we do? Most of us are neither farmers nor gardeners. First up, I'd say, is to educate ourselves on the issue. Then do what we can to spread the word, and get political about it. If we do garden, consider planting weeds! And no insecticides, that's for sure. To quote the article, "Superficial change won’t do it. The change has to be cultural. It has to be spiritual."
