Yes! We're dealing with a capitalistic system that cares not about anything except the profits generated. It produces a waste stream that is dumped into our air or waterways and affects all living things down-stream. When the system can't generate the profit any longer, it moves on leaving a hole in the Earth. And these holes can be pock marks or they can, all too often, be giant craters.
