Today's article is an excellent overview of India / Pakistan nuclear arms and their latest conflict, which fortunately appears to have come to an end. Nuclear armed countries have never yet gone to war with each other, and that is the big argument in favor of nuclear arms. And that is also a big argument in favor of linking nuclear disarmament with general and complete disarmament as it is in the NPT (Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty).
Article 6 of the NPT: "Each of the Parties to the Treaty undertakes to pursue negotiations in good faith on effective measures relating to cessation of the nuclear arms race at an early date and to nuclear disarmament, and on a treaty on general and complete disarmament under strict and effective international control."
