The Day Reality Ended

Since 9/11, we live in a nightmare world, scripted by intelligence agencies.

“We create a pretend world. We are a global production company. We write the screenplay, we’re the directors, we’re the producers. We’re the main actors, and the world is our stage.” Ex-Mossad official “Michael” speaking to CBS 60 Minutes Dec. 2024. Michael” may have been exaggerating, but intelligence agencies like his have transformed the world in terrifying ways. Their prime strategy is a mass deception often called a false flag.

False flag: “An attack designed to look like it was perpetrated by someone other than the person or group responsible for it.” — Merriam Webster Dictionary

False flag operations are nothing new. They’ve been used to justify wars and confuse enemies ever since the days when ships would fly an enemy’s or neutral country’s flag to deceive other ships and sneak up on them. The US blew up their own battleship Maine and used the incident to start the Spanish-American War. They manufactured supposed attacks on US destroyers in the Gulf of Tonkin to justify invading Viet Nam. Other countries have done similar things for centuries.

But only since Sept. 11, 2001 have false flags become a substitute reality in which we all live. They have us living in a constant state of fear, always preparing for and starting new wars, accepting rapid decay of our quality of life, and believing things that most four year olds would call ridiculous or impossible.

We’re acting out a nightmare movie script, written by intelligence agencies and corporate media. It’s being taught to kids as history. It has replaced physical reality with a world where only narratives matter.

False flags are only one form of mass deception. Slightly different are hoaxes, terrifying incidents that didn’t occur at all. Think all the terror plots, like the kidnapping of Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer, “prevented” by the FBI, which usually turn out to have been instigated by the FBI in the first place.

The increasing power of artificial intelligence (AI) gives spy agencies and other narrative managers a whole new set of tools to create false flags and hoaxes. Figuring out what’s real and what isn’t takes ever-greater amounts of time, labor, and technological know-how. Most people don’t even try, and those who do are labeled ‘conspiracy theorists’.

We also have what I call mixed flags, in which identified enemies do something bad with help from the supposed victims. (Think October 7, 2023.) There are also lies constantly repeated until they become true, like Venezuelan fentanyl trafficking or Latin American governments “emptying their prisons” to send ‘armies of rapists’ and drug dealers to ‘invade’ the U.S, as Donald Trump likes to say. In this article, I will fold in many of the false narratives our governments use to deceive us.

How false flags shape our world

The French philosopher known as Voltaire said, “Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.” Living in the post-9/11 false flag world, people learn early to accept the impossible and absurd as real. Then it’s only a short step to accepting blatant evil as a necessary thing.

Physically impossible things people believe about 9/11 include

● Steel skyscrapers falling straight down, including one (WTC 7) that wasn’t hit by a plane at all.

● An airliner crashing through concrete walls at the Pentagon, leaving a hole smaller than the plane itself and leaving almost no wreckage.

● Hijackers’ passports escaping from carrying bags, an airliner, and a burning building and landing unharmed on a New York sidewalk a block away.

And many more you can read here. Or here, a site that no longer shows up on a Google search. To say nothing of the dozens of highly improbable or incredibly suspicious things, such as untrained pilots from Saudi Arabia commandeering airliners using box cutters and then flying them straight into their targets, or the refusal of the Federal government to investigate the attacks until forced by public outcry.

Now, nobody under the age of 30 can remember a time when skyscrapers didn’t spontaneously collapse, or when armies of faraway terrorists weren’t trying to kill us for no good reason. How does it affect a society when any narrative can become reality, when physical truth no longer matters?

Having learned to believe absurdities, we have become a society that commits atrocities, a place where it’s OK to blow up fishing boats. Where women and children huddling in tents in Gaza can be called terrorists and bombed. We can ignore environmental destruction that kills millions of people and billions of other creatures. It’s a nightmare world, and it’s not even our own nightmare.

How to do a successful false flag

It’s not so easy to make impossible fantasies into accepted realities. As Shaun King spells out on his web site The North Star, having a blatantly false narrative accepted as true requires skilled manipulation and control of mass media. Israel are masters at this, but other countries do it too.

● First you have to set up the people you will blame. Shaun King reports on the King David Hotel explosions in Jerusalem in 1946, which helped drive the UK out of Palestine. The Irgun gang of (self-described) Zionist terrorists disguised themselves as Arab hotel workers and smuggled milk churns filled with explosives into the hotel basement, killing 96 people.

Similarly, prior to 9/11/01, a number of Saudis and probably a large number of Israeli operatives disguising themselves as Arabs made themselves seen around New York and Florida, and some took flight training classes, setting Arabs up as the identified perpetrators.

● Commit the crime. This has to be carefully done. You want something shocking and not easily explained. You also have to prepare your media blitz for the days after the false flag.

● After the crime, immediately identify the people you want to blame. You can’t take too long with this or people will start to investigate. On Sept 11, 2001, it took only three days for the government to release the names and another week to release pictures of 19 supposed hijackers. (At least seven of whom contacted media to say, ‘Wasn’t me. I’m still here.’)

24 years later, on September 12, 2025, law enforcement named Tyler Robinson as Charlie Kirk’s assassin, less than 36 hours after the shooting and without presenting any credible evidence.

Deny you did it. When Israel tried to sink the US spy ship Liberty in June 1967, killing 34 US service men and wounding 117 others, they initially denied it. They hoped Egypt, with whom they were at war, would get the blame.

● Rewrite the story as needed. When it became obvious that many had seen Israeli planes and boats repeatedly attacking the Liberty, they changed their line to, ‘Yeah, we did it, but it was a mistake. We didn’t know it was you.’ When this obvious lie blew up, because the flags and markings on the Liberty were unmistakable, they changed it again, blaming communication problems among officers.

With a controlled or bought media, you can change your story as often as needed. In 1954, Israeli intelligence hired some Egyptian Jews to set off bombs in Jewish spaces in Cairo and Alexandria. The idea was to drive Jews to immigrate to Israel (an exodus now framed as ‘Arabs expelled the Jews.’).

The plot was foiled when some devices went off prematurely, and many plotters were arrested, jailed, or executed. Israel at first denied involvement, then pinned the blame on a rogue operator named Pinhas Lavon. The event became known as the Lavon Affair. Decades later, Israel admitted Lavon was working under orders and made him a hero.

People often cast doubt on false flag explanations by saying “The truth would have come out by now.’ Well, the truth is out in many cases, but corporate media will not share it. People knew who was behind the Lavon Affair and the Liberty attack. Books have been written, movies made, and conferences held about what really happened on 9/11. All questioning of official narratives is conveniently labeled ‘conspiracy theory and ignored.

Why do false flags happen? The imperial powers do them because they need us to believe in their worldview. They need us to work, buy, consume, and die without asking questions. As Australian journalist Caitlin Johnstone puts it, “The entire empire is built on a foundation of lies. The power structure is held together by nonstop manipulation.” The one hope is that because of social media, more people are seeing through them.

How to spot a false flag

Reality-bending events come at us every week, but not all horror stories are false flags. We can’t always tell the difference, but there are telltale signs.

● If things don’t make sense, they are probably lies. On Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas supposedly swarmed through an undefended border wall to massacre Israelis, before the IDF could respond. Does this story make any sense? That border is among the most heavily patrolled and surveilled in the world. Numerous Israeli soldiers have testified they saw the coming incursion, reported it, and were told to shut up about it. Egyptians and US intelligence warned such an attack was coming. The IDF had bases a few minutes’ drive away, if they didn’t want to use their planes and helicopters. Yet it took the Israeli military 5–7 hours to get there.

10/7 was a mixed flag. Hamas was clearly involved, but Israel funded Hamas for years, infiltrated their leadership, left the border open to attack, and did what they could to inflate the casualty counts by incinerating 1500 cars, many with hostages in them. They claim Hamas burned them, though they had neither the weapons nor the motivation to destroy cars. Now an AI overview tells you that Hamas RPGs set all those cars on fire. But Israeli helicopter pilots have testified that they were ordered to hit all fleeing cars with their Hellfire missiles.

● If governments and media jump in with explanations immediately after a terror incident, all saying the same thing, it’s probably a false flag or hoax. The 40 beheaded babies on Oct. 7 come to mind, but there are many others.

● Ask yourself, who benefited from this? If the answer is “the military-industrial complex,” it’s a false flag. Often, the motive is to justify a war. Israel invited the 10/7 attack as a pretext for ethnically cleansing Gaza. Sept. 11 provoked the war on terror with its massive, continually expanding military buildup

● If a government threatens to do something, and then that thing happens, they did it. On Feb. 6 2022, President Joe Biden promised that if Russia invaded Ukraine, he would “put an end” to the Nordstream pipeline, which brought Russian gas to fuel German and other European industries. Russia invaded anyway. On Sept 26, 2022, the pipeline mysteriously exploded, and the world’s media pretended they had no idea who did it. Now the official story blames Ukrainians, but only the US had the means and opportunity to carry out such a deep sea explosion.

Nordstream is a classic case of why the truth never comes out. Seymour Hersh wrote a very long Substack, detailing how US commandos had rigged the explosion, but USG denied it and corporate media refused to look into it.

Some other things to remember

“What has been asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.” Christopher Hitchens. The burden of proof lies on the people making a claim, not on those who question it. If no proof is provided, you don’t need evidence to reject the claim. False flag artists can spin convincing sounding narratives, but if they provide no proof, assume they are lying.

“Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.” Carl Sagan. Israeli sources alleged mass rapes on October 7, but no such victims were ever identified. Media still reported the claims as facts, and they motivated the world to support the Gaza massacres. This was an extraordinary claim, because how would commandos on a mission deep inside enemy territory, expecting an attack by IDF at any minute, find time to go around raping women, who then mysteriously disappeared? Always ask, where is the evidence?

Be aware that evidence will be continuously created on the Internet over time, so investigate quickly. 15 years ago, it was easy to find information challenging the 9/11 narrative with a Google search. Now, most of those sites are gone. Now, “analyses” claim to show the WTC towers ”could” have fallen from fire. AI keeps creating new ones. Those analyses never hold up on examination, but they are what you will see on a Google search.

Today the most critical flags surround America’s attempt to demonize and overthrow the government of Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela. US leaders call Maduro the leader of a criminal drug trafficking operation they call Cartel de los Soles, a group that does not even exist, according to most Venezuelan sources.

Even if the Cartel existed, where is the evidence that Maduro is the group’s leader? None has been presented, and Venezuela vigorously denies it. Where’s the proof that those tiny Venezuelan boats are full of toxic drugs headed for the US, 2000 miles away? If a story doesn’t make sense, it’s almost certainly a lie.

It feels much like Saddam’s weapons of mass destruction or Gaddafi’s rape squads. Create a monster and then say you need to invade to get rid of them. If there’s no actual evidence or event to pin on them, you just create a false narrative and repeat it until a sufficient number of people believe it.

Living in a post-reality world

“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.” George Orwell.

A torrent of lies and false flags threatens to sweep us away. How to fight back? How to stay sane?

Fighting back means telling the truth about the stories we’re being fed. Inform yourself from a variety of sources, not just from what comes up in your news feed, on your corporate TV, or newspaper front page. Don’t just speak truth to power, speak it to everyone.

From experience, I can tell you those are difficult conversations to have. People hate hearing that they’ve been lied to. I don’t blame anyone for avoiding such topics, but the alternative is endless war and a murdered Earth. Truth is our best defense, but there is something more important than information. That is connection to the natural world beyond the nightmare land of the corporate narrative controllers.

Reality still exists

Always remember that physical reality, our beautiful planet and all its amazing life forms still exist, outside you and within you. Spend more time in the real world. Plant things, visit with animals and children. Turn off your devices and put them away for a while. Even people who live in cities where Nature is hard to find can plant things in pots or adopt animals. This practice may not keep us all the way sane, but it will help us survive and communicate more effectively and lovingly with others. Even in a world dominated by AI and false flags, reality could make a comeback.
