Israel / US bomb girls elementary, killing 160. For what reason?

For decades, we’ve been reading about the Islamic Republic of Iran’s oppression of women. Some of these claims may have been true, but all of them came from US/Israeli/European regimes and media trying to demonize the Iranian government. They didn’t reflect the actual situation of Iranian women or how it was changing.
If anyone thought these reports were really driven by concern for Iranian women, they learned their lesson on the very first day of the new Israel/US aggression against Iran. The attackers bombed a girls’ elementary school, killing 150 girls and their teachers. They also bombed a gymnasium where girls were playing volleyball, killing nearly 50 young innocents.
Israel made its usual halfhearted attempts to deflect blame, saying the schools were actually hit by misfired Iranian defense missiles. They gave no evidence, because the claim is absurd. The schools were not near any missile-firing base. Israel made the same claim after bombing hospitals in Gaza –“Palestinians did it to themselves” — and then went on to bomb the same hospitals over and over.
The Netanyahu and Trump regimes are just lying. Their whole narrative about Iran’s nuclear program is a massive set of lies. Iran is not seeking a bomb and says so every day. But I still must ask, why? Why bomb a school full of girls? How are they a military target?
The targeting wasn’t a mistake. US/Israeli targeting and surveillance systems are so precise that they know exactly where Iranian leaders are at all times. Their drones assassinate Hamas or Hezbollah leaders in their apartments in other countries without destroying the building. There’s no way they mistook a girls’ school for a military headquarter. So again, why?
I’m afraid the answer is horrifyingly ugly. It’s a wake-up call. They commit these atrocities in order to normalize them. 28 months of slaughter in Gaza, most of it without any military purpose, has taught us who Israel is. For anyone paying attention, the US history of slavery and genocide of indigenous Indians have taught us who Americans are. The Epstein files have taught us who capitalists are. They’re all part of the same Empire, and they are preparing us for worse crimes to come, up to and including nuclear war. They’re saying, ‘This is what we do. Keep your head down and your mouth shut, or we’ll do this to you.”
To me, it makes little sense to say, ‘This is Israel doing’ or ‘This is the US doing’ this. They work so closely together that the identity of those dropping the bombs doesn’t matter. These are truly US/Israel or Israel/US wars, and I’m glad media is calling them that, even if they lie about everything else.
I’m hearing people in the global South and their supporters on social media have taken to calling the US/Israel rulers the Epstein class or the Epstein regime. This label seems so true and appropriate. The Epstein files have given us a glimpse into the depravity, greed, stupidity, and interconnectedness of our rulers in the West. We now know we are being ruled by sociopathic pedophiles, some of the worst people alive. Their lust for blood, wealth, and power knows no limits, and they won’t voluntarily change their ways.
The question is what are we going to do about it?
