To me referring to the UNA affiilated groups' effort as a "commons" is unfamiliar to most.
Looking at the next to last paragraph in http://www.greattransition.org/document/the-commons-as-a-template-for-transformation there is discussion of commons as a federation of like minded groups .
I, for one, would prefer to have the SF Bay COO be seen as a "federation" rather than a "commons organization". It would be more understandable to organizations willing to support/join the UNA SF Bay COO to join a "federation" than a "commons" type organization.
What do you think?
