And here is a new item on the Roadmap concerning use of tags as topics:
0718 30 Mar 2014 / Edit of message should show the current tags. As it is, on edit of a message previous tags are not shown and when the message is saved, the tags are lost. What delimits tags? I see spaces and commas work to delimit a tag - any other special characters? What will we do when a group has hundreds of tags? The list by tag option is not available in a discussion. For now that is probably a good idea not to select by tag in a discussion - at least until we have completely thought tags through. Could tags be used as topics? In this case, the list of tags would be put under the control of the group moderator and the name would be changed to “topic”. The “topic” list for a message would be a selection from a dropdown list with “* None *” as the default. “None” would display like any other topic and be selectable. Default still would be * All * for selection, with * None * as second in the list followed by the moderator supplied topics in the order provided by the moderator.
